Published: June 1, 2010

DebTech International LLC, The Data Administration Newsletter (TDAN.com) and Wilshire Conferences Inc. have announced the winner of the First Annual Data Governance Best Practice Award. From among a pool of fourteen exceptionally accomplished nominees, the prestigious panel of eight judges chose The British Army as this year’s recipient.

Additional finalists for the award were PepsiAmericas, ConAgra Foods, and SEI.

Chairman of the judging panel, Robert S. Seiner, Publisher of TDAN.com and President & Principal of KIK Consulting & Educational Services said, “The quality of the submissions for the 2010 Data Governance Best Practice Award and the judges participation were outstanding from beginning to end. The selection of the British Army as the 2010 Award Winner demonstrates that, no matter the business or organization type, the value gained from implementing a successful Data Governance Program is consistent from organization to organization.”

Brigadier Richard Nugee of the British Army was thrilled to receive the award.

"We are delighted to have been selected to win such a prestigious international award. To an organization that is strongly focussed on results, whether on the battlefield or in all aspects of data, this award is a substantial recognition of the efforts we have put in to make sure that data governance is recognised as an important part of the Army, and will definitely help us push the understanding of our work further throughout UK Defence."

The award will be formally presented at the Annual Data Governance Conference on June 8, 2010 in San Diego, CA.
