IRMA - Information Resources Management Association
The concern over effective information resources management (IRM) resulted in the formation of the Information Resources Management Association (IRMA) in 1988. Unlike other groups, IRMA promotes information and the tools used in information gathering, processing, dissemination, and managing--as a major organizational resource. Furthermore, IRMA believes that there are many other components that comprise organizational information resources, such as information processing personnel, end users, communications, office automation, management, and most of all, information.
